On June 1, 2009 muslim convert Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad conducted a drive-by shooting directed towards soldiers at a recruiting office. Upon arrest, he said that he had been sent by Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, and that "the attack was justified according to Islamic Laws and the Islamic Religion. Jihad—to fight those who wage war on Islam and Muslims". Muhammad killed one solider, and wounded another. Although Muhammad himself is not still a threat to the United States, as he is serving a life sentence in prison, his persona and actions are not unique to him. Other muslim converts who are angry with US soldiers could take similar action making the threat very much real.
